Fruit and Quaker Oatmeal Smoothie

Ingredients:

Directions:

For oatmeal

  1. Combine rolled oats and fat-free, lactose-free milk in saucepan.
  2. Simmer for 5 minutes or until oats have absorbed a majority of the milk. (Oatmeal will yield 1 cup.)
  3. Let cool.

For smoothie

  1. In blender, combine 1 cup cooked oatmeal, half of a ripe banana, 1/4 cup frozen (or fresh) strawberries, 3/4 cup Kefir, and ice cubes.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Serve immediately with fresh strawberry garnish (optional).
