Ed Henderson is a fifth-generation dairy farmer who takes outdoor concerts to the next level.

A jazz musician who plays in a 17-piece band, he always has a reliable audience for his impromptu gigs—his music-loving herd.

CNN’s Great Big Story was so intrigued by Henderson’s cow concerts, they recently visited his Shenandoah Dairy in Live Oak, Florida, to catch one.

“Playing for my cows started out as just a fun little experiment,” says Henderson, “but once I saw their reaction to me and a trombone, I knew they would really get a kick out of listening to an entire brass ensemble.”

He and his full band put on a concert last November that started it all.
